Juvederm & Radiesse
Juvéderm patients are able to avoid the dangers that come with going under the knife. This treatment is used by cosmetic, dermatological, and plastic surgeons. Juvederm softens deep folds and reduce wrinkles in the face. Juvederm injectable gel is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, which may give the appearance of a smoother surface. Juvederm approved by the FDA to last up to one year from initial treatment.
Radiesse is an injectable treatment, like Botox and Juvederm, that is used for cosmetic purposes. This treatment is used to sculpt the face, fill out wrinkles, and more. After this procedure patients are able to return to normal activities almost immediately. There have been only minimal side effects reported during clinical trials and actual use of Radiesse. Some may experience mild irritation such as swelling, discoloration, or tenderness around the injection. These conditions normally resolve themselves within one to three days. The results are quick, effective and long-lasting. Virtually any facial wrinkle is treatable with Radiesse, including:
- Marionette lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Depressed scars
- Sunken cheeks
Dermal Filler (injectable cosmetic filler) is a soft tissue filler approved as medical devices by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Commonly used dermal fillers are Radiesse, Restylane, and Juvederm. Dr. Nguyen injects Dermal filler into the skin to help fill in facial wrinkles, restoring a smoother appearance, creating plump lips and fuller facial features. Most of these dermal fillers are eventually absorbed by the body. Some people may need more than one injection to achieve the wrinkle-smoothing effect. The effect lasts for about six months or longer. Successful results depend on the health of the skin and the type of filler used.
